Careers

Maryville Design & Visual Art students have access to rigorous career focused curriculum and an extensive alumni and professional network. All B.F.A. programs include an internship requirement, capstone experience, senior exhibit, and senior / portfolio seminar. These advanced experiences target professional development skills and high caliber work that firms, organizations, galleries, and graduate schools are looking for.

Internships

As a requirement for all B.F.A. degrees, 100% of Maryville Design & Visual Art B.F.A. graduates have completed an internship. We continually cultivate and maintain relationships throughout the region’s art and design communities and beyond to ensure that internship experiences are tailored to meet our students’ interests, and assist them in building valuable experience.

Students have been hosted as interns at hundreds of regional and national businesses, organizations, and firms giving them a competitive edge and often leading to full-time job placements.

Shared Core

If you’re thinking of a degree in Design & Visual Art, but don’t quite know which creative career you want to pursue, you don’t have to decide right away. All of Maryville Design & Visual Art programs share a core curriculum in the first year making it relatively easy to switch programs.

Technology

Access and industry standard are overarching guidelines of Maryville Design & Visual Art. All majors have 24 / 7 access to the Design & Visual Art building and its studios. Each studio is fully equipped with industry standard technology and overseen by faculty and studio managers.

Accreditation

Committed to excellence, Maryville Design & Visual Art is accredited by NASAD, the National Schools of Art and Design. Interior Design is additionally accredited by CIDA, the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
